Who is the AVESOR® Explorer intended for?
The AVESOR® Explorer is intended for project managers, business analysts and software engineers who need to understand the overall structure of a legacy system.
The most common applications of AVESOR® Explorer are:
Enrolment of Staff
Understanding the interdependencies in the legacy system
project managers, software architects, software engineers, software test managers, requirements managers
Modernisation and controlled demolition of legacy systems
Assessment of expenses, durations and risks for modernization and demolition projects
Extension and adaptation of legacy systems
Identify the potential impact of changes in certain areas. Assessment of the testing effort for potential side effects due to the intended changes.
Demolition of monolithic old systems
Assessment of degradation scenarios (e.g. step-by-step degradation versus Big Bang) with direct view into the structure of the software system and see, where the hotspots are. Hotspots require special attention, because they have the greatest potential of risks.
The use cases mentioned above have one factor in common, namely that the VR model does not require manual mining of the source code and/or long reports, but is interactive. That’s the reason why we do not create reports - in our experience these reports quickly get dusty in a file cabinet.
